I figured that the first thing to do should be to candidly introduce myself outside of the generic blocks of professional content I wrote about myself for this website. We are all more than the Skills or Work Experience section on a CV, so here goes.
My name is Megan Nicole Riddle. I grew up in the small, rural town of Aspers, Pennsylvania. If you've ever had Mott's applesauce or apple juice, that's made in my hometown. I also lived 20 minutes from the somewhat famous town of Gettysburg. My summer job in high school was working for the tour center, so I've been on many a battlefield tour (ghost tours too).
I landed in my current location of Louisville, Kentucky after attending the University of Louisville for college, where I participated in the Equine Industry Program, graduating with a B.S.B.A in Equine Administration with a minor in marketing.
My favorite college experience was getting to work with NBC/NBC Sports Network covering the 2015 Triple Crown races and Breeder's Cup. Seeing American Pharoah win the Triple Crown from the winner's circle of Belmont Park is a moment I will never forget.
If I had to pick one thing that has had the most impact on my life, it would undoubtedly be horseback riding. I've been riding since the age of 7, so you could say I got bit by the horse bug and never recovered. Horses have taught me invaluable lessons about responsibility, discipline, listening, teamwork, and that hard work really does pay off.
Most importantly, when you fall off/down, you can and must always pick yourself back up and get back on the horse.
Outside of horseback riding, my hobbies and interests are an eclectic mix of activities. I'm an avid cook and baker, I do counted cross-stitch, and I love to read (so much so I have my own library, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and all). I'm just your average 29-year-old grandma!
I'm a huge sports fan as well. Outside of equestrian sports, you'll find me watching college football on Saturdays in the fall, college basketball in the winter, and Formula 1 races in between! I'm a huge Ohio State fan (yes, I grew up in PA but Go Bucks!) and have an avid dislike for the whole state of *ichigan.
My bucket list includes mainly traveling to anywhere that is not in the United States (I've been to Ireland, Scotland, Britain, and Italy thus far) and attending some iconic sporting events along the way. There's so much to explore and learn about in this world; I just want to go out and experience it all.
Last but not least, I've never met a margarita that I didn't like. If you're ever in need of a margarita recommendation in the city of Louisville, I'm your girl.
This is me[g].
